The Buttercrane Shopping Centre first launched a VIP loyalty programme through Péarlaí in 2017. It was actually the first shopping centre in the UK to explore a technology solution like ours to reward their loyal shoppers and improve footfall and sales for their stores.
A bold step that has reaped great rewards for The Buttercrane Shopping Centre. Now the centre has almost 13,000 registered VIPs.
Seventeen stores have also come on board and are benefitting from access to exclusive data on their shoppers and enjoying the benefits of an automated marketing platform that reaches out to interested shoppers when they are nearby.
Centre Manager, Peter Murray, kindly took part in a virtual interview with us recently to offer a full insight into the benefits of using Péarlaí’s platform.
When you first considered using retail technology, what problems were you looking to solve?
We were looking for a solution that would enable us to engage with our shoppers. More importantly, we wanted to measure the effectiveness of those engagements; for example, did they enter the shop after receiving alerts.
What made you choose Péarlaí?
The Péarlaí team took the time to fully understand what we wanted to achieve and worked with our tenants and us to achieve that. They impressed me with their dedication to meeting our goals and continuous support.
What have been the greatest benefits from using Péarlaí’s platform?
Centre Management can now provide indisputable evidence that we actively drive footfall into each of our tenants’ doors. The reports available are easily downloadable and are great to show tenants during tenant meetings.
Has Péarlaí helped you reach your goals?
Before the introduction of lockdown restrictions due to the pandemic, we had increased our overall centre dwell time by 10% and had consistent conversion rates (shoppers receiving SMS alerts and then entering the relevant shops afterwards), over 20% in 90% of our participating stores to be exact.
What has it been like to work with Péarlaí, and would you recommend the platform to others?
The whole Péarlaí team has been great to work with and have always been in constant contact with us as management and all of our tenants to increase footfall, dwell times and sales.
They have also always been adding features based on our feedback, which has enhanced our centre and our shoppers’ experience. Yes, I would recommend them to anyone I talk to.
